What Is A Custom Guitar Shop? How Can Guitars Players Benefit From One?

What Is A Custom Guitar Shop?

Through the years, we’ve realized that many guitar players really have very little understanding of the scope and purpose of a custom guitar shop.  We discovered this quite accidentally by listening closely to some of the questions received over the last few years.  For example, one question that still comes up often is, “Nice guitar-but how does it play?”
That question always puzzles us. Why? Because our job as a Custom Guitar Shop is to simply make every guitar we sell play exactly how the player who buys it wants it to play!  We are the experts, and can make any neck modifications, electronics changes, or custom changes that you like.

A guitar is only as beautiful as the last action…..setup

Unfortunately, most guitar players are so accustomed to traveling from store to store looking for the right instrument.  Rather try making the decision to create their perfect instrument at a custom guitar shop.  A custom guitar shop is a smarter way to get what you need. We can take all of the attributes of all your favorite guitars and combine them into the guitar. Maybe one, you’ve always dreamed of having.  If you like a Gibson style neck, but prefer Custom Single Cutaway electronics, you got it!

Maybe only with active pickups, and you would rather have a Stratocaster style body … it’s not a problem!  On the other hand, what if you see a guitar that you like in our custom guitar shop?  Because you know it’s going to be perfect for you, but you need a change.  Before a guitar leaves our shop, it undergoes  action adjustments, intonation checks. We set it up for you. Yes, YOU.

Finally proper string adjustments to make sure that you have a great playing guitar.  Because it plays EXACTLY how you need it to play as a guitarist. What could be simpler?

The Difference Between Haywire Custom Guitars- Custom Shop and the Fender Custom Shop…………

We use everyone’s parts-they only use theirs. If you consider the Fender custom guitar shop for example, when deciding to have a new guitar built some things to bear in mind are:  Fender uses Fender parts. If you want EMG, Lollar, DiMarzio, Fralin, Bareknuckle, Nicholas Cardillo, Rio Grande, SRV pickups to name a few it most likely won’t happen.

They have an agenda which includes using and promoting their own brand and understandably so. They are not going to add other companies products unless they are paid handsomely either by you or someone else but in reality they will most likely not do it. You won’t necessarily get what you want. The prices in their  Custom shop are on average about 4 times higher than the most custom shops for about the same quality.

In our shop we do what you want, use the parts you request, add the pickups for the sound you need and add features that you’ll love on a gig.  So….back to the original subject-What do Haywire guitars sound like?  Check the website when you can and look at the individual guitar product pages and you’ll see some videos that demonstrate what Haywire guitars sound like with different pickups, features, push-pull options, pickup selections and more. The electronics we use are only limited by your imagination because we’ll use whatever you like, Because it makes realistic cost effective sense to assist your decisions.  We can recommend what pickups will do the job you need done. That is the big difference between us and the more expense less responsive guys. Finally….we get to use everyone’s parts!

To answer the question–“They sound like anything you’d like them to sound like”
