Featured Haywire Custom Guitar of the Week-USA Haywire Nashville Player

Sunburst Haywire Custom Shop Hard Tail guitar body

This Super-Active Haywire Custom Shop guitar has a set of EMG model SA pickups with a EMG TC in the bridge for super country twang. They have lots of power, punch, sustain and clarity with no noise. The pickups are internally grounded so they won’t pickup and “hum” from lights or RF signals. The battery is located in the back just under the tremolo cover and can be changed in 90 seconds. The 9 volt Battery life is approx. 1-1/2 years. Pickup life-forever!

A Knurled knob added for easier volume roll-off. The Sunburst Haywire Custom Shop Hard Tail guitar body is very light- only 3 lbs. as a result the entire guitar weighs about 5.5 lbs. Does it get any better for a guitar player looking for-quiet operation, lots of headroom and no shoulder pain?

Guitar pickups are simply microphones (transducers for you,”educated players”) that “pick up” or “sense” the vibrations of the strings of your electric guitar.  They convert the vibrations into sound that can be boosted with an amplifier. The “quality” of the sound produced depends on how well they are made. EMG does a great job. They know how important, quiet, sensitivity and power can be when combined.

The reason we source more than one guitar “Pickup Manufacturer” is because each one claims to be able to do it better. Some do and some don’t. We really using EMG products because of the high quality. The customer service is excellent as well.

What were original guitar pickups made of?  The original guitar pickup, most likely German made, was–and still is, made of magnetic steel poles on the inside all wound with thin copper wire on the outside. Identical to the way passive pickups are still made. Tell you anything?
