Why?

Does Turning down your volume = turning up the muddy tone?

Your pickups, the guitars potentiometer resistance and also your guitar cable are all responsible for muddying and muffling your signal.
They’re found in the places between 0 and 10 on your volume control.

The Haywire Treble Bleed circuit provides smoother, more organic tones. It brings the volume level down while retaining a high degree of treble.
Your sound now cleans up nicely and stays fresh as volume goes down. Most of all, our variable treble bleed/bypass circuit corrects the problem of high frequency losses and also provides auto-adjustment of tone.  Finally, at reduced volumes this circuit improves audio taper between 3 and 10.  Note: this mod works best with single coil pickups, similar to Strat and Tele-style guitars. Hence, they will probably benefit most.

This mod keeps the tone you have on “10” throughout the entire range of the volume control all the way down to “1”.
We add a resistor capacitor network to the input and output of the volume control to keep the highs from leaving your tone as the volume is decreased. By adding this circuit to your guitar we can help you avoid the “muddy-tone” syndrome.
Now your tone is much more controllable and articulate!

When we install a Treble Bleed Circuit your highs stay!  Turning your volume control applies varying amounts of a specially tuned high frequency filter to your pickups. In an ordinary guitar rolling back the volume gets muddy.  With this installed, each pickup has the ability to produce a stronger, fuller tone and also 50% less noise. On Humbuckers (either North or South or both coils can be filtered).

This variable treble bleed circuit is now installed.

Your variable treble bleed circuit is installed. It now corrects the problem of high frequency losses and provides auto-adjustment of tone at reduced volumes. It also improves audio taper between 3 and 10. Your quest for the perfect tone has finally ended. It’s here!
