Guitar Services

The most needed and most important service in overall Guitar Services has to be: Guitar Setup.

What is a guitar setup?

What is a guitar setup? Why is it important? Does a guitar need a setup? Where do I get a setup? A setup is a series of adjustments to keep all of the components of your guitar playing right, working parts in a guitar need balance. In other words, a good setup will make you guitar play great. We adjust the neck, bridge, nut, frets (leveling) pickups, action and intonation. Your guitar needs to play better than it did when it came out of the factory. Why-because they don’t do a setup there because leave that part to you. Most guitar services include a setup. If not-then ask for one.

We all play differently. Our guitars need to be adjusted to our individual playing style.

Most players don’t like a factory setup, that’s because we all play differently. Some guitar players have a light touch in their playing style, as a result they can flourish in a low action environment. If a guitar rattles and buzzes, but only for certain players-they are heavy handed players that will a need higher action setup. We listen and know how to adjust a guitar to the player.

Why does my guitar need a setup?

A new guitar can be tweaked to play better. The key is to make it play better for the owner. A single guitar need not play great for everyone. It is nearly impossible for that to happen. As mentioned previously, we all play differently. So, guitars need to be adjusted to the individual’s playing style. That is the difference. It is most important. Sure change of seasons, humidity, and temperature will affect a guitars play. Acoustic instruments are especially affected by these changes. However, every time you change something on your guitar, you should adjust the other components accordingly for perfect balance. If you want to change the string gauge, you’ll need to adjust the truss rod, the bridge, check the nut and re-set the action and intonation in order to get the best performance from your guitar. These changes will keep your guitar playing well, in tune and buzz free for you. A good set-up is key.
