2)-The Mini-Humbucker (like in a Les Paul Deluxe) uses a bar magnet with 6 adjustable screws (NOTE: some have 12 screws* for more accurate settings). The screws dial in each string and act like a manual EQ for your guitar. The reason is for optimum output and balanced string response, producing a sound bridging single-coil sparkle and full-size humbucker warmth, both pickups are smaller and brighter than standard humbuckers but differing in internal pole design and resulting slightly different sonic character with maximum adjustability for players.

Adjustable Pole Humbucker Advantages

Individual String Balance: The primary advantage is the ability to adjust each pole piece’s height and proximity to its respective string, allowing for a perfectly balanced volume and output for each string.
Tone Customization: Adjusting the pole pieces allows the player to act as a manual “EQ,” fine-tuning the sound of individual strings. It gives the option to change the overall tone response. Raising a pole piece brings it closer to the string, making that string’s signal stronger and potentially brighter. Similar to a vocalist when they sing into a microphone. The closer-the better tonal and volume response becomes.
