fret sprout

What is fret sprout?

When the metal ends of a guitar's frets protrude beyond the edge of the fretboard, creating a sharp, rough surface it's fret sprout. Haywire Custom Guitars can fix fret sprout. A quick light touch with a fret end dressing file removes any sharp edges, leaving smooth and rounded fret ends that won’t slice your fingers. Instead of feeling like a cross-cut saw the neck will be smooth and playable again.

Guitar Difficult To Play?

The most common issues making a guitar difficult to play are string height, string gauges, poor action, nut slots cut wrong and more...from Haywire Custom Guitars.

Aging Guitars

Aging guitars often sound better than newer ones as they dry out over time which causes them to become more resonant tone with better sustain. Play your old guitar often and help it sound better while opening up.
